Blog excerpts about Lexi Jourden
from ABC Network’s Web Site for
SONS & DAUGHTERS
I like the cast very much. I especially liked Lexi Jourden. She was so cute!
THE DARLING LITTLE GIRL IN THE PINK TUTU HAS CAPTURED MY HEART. WHAT A DOLL.
It's hard to pick one reason why I love Sons and Daughters, so I'll name a few. One, Marney (Lexi Jourden). When she went off on Don's script, we played it back about 50 times. That was adorable and I don't know how the other actors kept a straight face.
The acting is amazing from first (Fred) all the way through the line to Alexandra Gold Jourden ...truly an ensemble sitcom of the best form.
I found myself laughing uncontrollably at the youngest daughter badmouthing Don's script
Are you telling me that the adorable little Marni (Lexi Jourden) came up with the dialogue when firing Don? I'm not sure if that's more impressive than her getting out those lines, but either way she made me fall on the floor. What I love about her and the whole cast is that everything seems so real.
AND THE MAIN REASON I LOVE TO WATCH THE SHOW IS TO SEE THE ADORABLE LITTLE GIRL WEARING THE DANCING COSTUME. I BELIEVE HER CHARACTER IS NAMED MARNI.
We enjoy guessing what was ad-libbed and what was not. For example, did that little girl in the pink tutu belt out that long commentary to her inept director uncle or did you feed her those lines? She is beyond darling and we love it whenever she appears.
How you get the kids to come across as real kids vs. the drone children of the average sitcom indicates what's so different and amazing about your show. Little things like Marni's nervous smiling sigh during her part of the Cameron play, those details really bring your characters to life.
Why I love S&D.
Marni's speech explaining why they were not going to do Don's play about Cameron.
The most incredible cast from the little girl to the older aunt.
From the time I saw the ad with the youngest cast member telling her mom that she did do her #2 but nobody had found it yet, I knew the show was a 'must-see' and would be one of my favorites.
“Unified Theory of Nothing Much” interview with Fred Goss
I'd like to say that Lexi Jourden came up with "I made a number two but they haven't found it yet" on her own, but it was actually one of our joke writers. Colleen – (Dee Wallace) – had gone into this thing about "Well, she did her number one but she didn't do her number two" and we trigger off of that. As she was saying that, someone was trying to formulate what could happen here to add a joke, so we gave that line to Lexi and she delivered it beautifully. |
